Preparation of a combined inactivated vaccine against duck virus hepatits and Duck virus enteritis Duck Plague

Abstract: Inactivated duck virus hepatitis (DHV) type 1 and duck virus enteritis (DVE) vaccines were prepared as monovalent and bivalent vaccines. Evaluation of the prepared vaccines was carried out in different groups of 5-day old ducklings. The immune response of vaccinated birds to such vaccines was estimated serologically using serum neutralization test (SNT) and enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA
)as well as by challenge test. Serum protein picture in vaccinated groups was also determined as a profile. The prepared vaccines were found to be potent and safe and protected ducks against both viruses. Boosting at 11 days afetr the first dose resulted in higher levels of protecting antibodies.
