Trials for preparation of bivalent inactivated oil emulsion vaccine against Newcastle and avian encephalomyelitis viruses

Abstract: Inactivated Newcastle disease virus and avian encephalomyelitis vaccines were prepared as monovalent and bivalent oil emulsion vaccines. Both vaccines (ND and AE vaccines) were evaluated in chickens compared with bivalent vaccine. Sero-conversion for blood samples at weekly intervals was carried out for evaluation of humoral immune response against Newcastle and avian encephalomyelitis viruses using haemagglutination inhibition test, ELISA respectively while, serum neutralization test for both vaccines. The results proved that the locally prepared bivalent vaccine was efficient safe potent and protective against both viruses.
