Evaluation of cell mediated immune response of chicken vaccinated with some newcastle disease vaccines

Abstract: A total of 210 one day old chicks were divided into 6 groups. These groups were vaccinated at one day old. The first group was vaccinated with inactivated Aluminum hydroxide gel formalized (IAHGF) ND vaccine in a dose of 0.2 m/bird injected S/C in the dorsal side of the neck. The second group was vaccinated with inactivated oil emulsion (IOE) ND vaccine through S/C route in a dose of 0.2 ml/bird. The third group was vaccinated with both the IAHGF vaccine given S/C and the HB1 vaccine by eye drop. The fourth group was vaccinated with both the IOE and the HB1. The fifth group was vaccinated with the live HB1 vaccine by eye drop. While the six group was served as non vaccinated control.
Cell immune response was evaluated by the lymphocyte transformation test and delayed hypersensitivity skin test, as well as the challenge test, confirming uses of the IOE vaccine only or with the live HB1 vaccines.
The cellular immune response began higher with the live HB1 vaccine than with the killed ones but declined earlier. Journal of the Egyptian Association of immunologists, 1994, 1 :17
