Immune Response of Sheep Vaccinated with Combined Pasteurella Multocida and Peste des Petits Ruminants Vaccine

Abstract: Six groups of susceptible healthy sheep of about one year old were randomly allotted into triads. Predetermined vaccination trails were carried out using three groups each, for a sole inactivated vaccine, namely formalized P.multocida, peste de petits ruminants (PPR) and formalized sonicated P.multocida vaccine. Two other groups were used to subject one of them to a combination of both formalin inactivated P.multocida and PPR vaccine; while the corresponding group received the combination of both vaccines but the P.multocida component was sonicated. The last group was kept as unvaccinated control group. All experimental used vaccines were oil based. Results being evaluated using recommended parameters revealed comparable figures indicating the validity, safety and efficacy as well as potency of the procedure of combination of both PPR and P.multocida inactivated vaccines
