Screening of some parasites infection in laboratory animals

Abstract: In this study in study infestation of some parasites in mice and rats was screened . Protozoal infestation 45.62% (Eimeria species was 22.95%, cryptosporidium muris 15.36%, and Babesia mictroti 7.32%). Helmitnhs parasites infestation 52.86% (Nematodes was 34.19% and Cestodes 18.67%). The most prevalent Nematode was Trichuris muris , while the Cestodes was Hymenlepis diminuta. The general clinical signs and post mortum changes were anorexia, emaciation, lethargy and enteritis which may lead to death.
