The use of Swiss mice as a model for propagation of borrelia anserina used for vaccine production

Abstract: In the present study murinization of Borrelia anserine in Swiss mice was performed. For passages have been made in mice , it was found that the third passage in the most successful one to infect birds. There is no difference in the character of the organism either pas-saged in chicken or mice . protection of chicken vaccinated with vaccines prepared either from chicken injected with chicken blood or infected mice blood was the same when chal- lenged with Borrelia anserina
