Evaluation of some small scale projects in Fayoum governorate

Abstract: This study was carried out on a sample of milk processing small scale projects in Fayoum governorate, some of these projects are funded by Social Fund Development (SFD) and the others are funded by their owners. This study aims to evaluate these projects from the economical point of view and the economical efficiency of using loans used in this projects, as well as investigating the most important problems which face these projects.

Results of the yogurt projects, show loss in net revenue and this loss increases in case of projects funded by (SFD) in compare to these project which funded by their owners, and this may be due to the increase of costs of loan repayment. In case of projects of collecting and distributing of milk, results show that net revenue of these projects funded by their owners is higher in compare of projects funded by (SFD).
Results show that the most important problems which face these projects are represented in issues of getting the license, evaluation of taxes, the small economical returns of the projects, competing of big scale companies, deficiency of qualified laborers, instability of quantity and quality of the raw material so, this study recommend providing more supply to(SFD) to increase its efficiency in providing help to small investors, also, this study recommend simplifying the official and financial measurements to encourage them.
