Prediction equations for estimating yield of triticale based on some macro climatic and micro environmental factors.

Abstract: This investigation was undertaken at Bahteem Agricultural Research Station. Agricultural Research Center. Egypt during the two successive seasons of (1989/90) and (1990/91) to study the effect of some macro climatic and micro environmental factors on the yield of two triticale (Triticale hexaploide, Lart) varieties (GNU)(s) and (BGL)(s). via prediction equation of full model and stepwise multiple regression analysis.
It was found that the most important macro climatic factors affecting grain yield of triticale were potential sunshine hours(PSSH), relative humidity (RH) and growing degree days (GDD) using full model of multiple regression. Upon using full model. RH, total bright sunshine hours (TBSSH), PSSH, growing degree days in flowering stage (GDD/F), photothermal unit in flowering stage (PTU/F), RH/F and PSSH/f had significant effect on spike yield.
Nitrogen fertilization (N) length of growth season (l.g.s). Variety (v) and sowing dates as micro environmental factors had significant effects on grain yield of triticale. Electric conductivity (EC) had negative and significant effect on grain yield while silt percentage (silt %) had positive and significant effect.
