Features of grain quality of spring triticale in contrasting weather and climate conditions

Abstract: The results of the study of spring triticale genotypes in 2017–2018, grown under the conditions of the Field Experimental station in the Moscow region, K. A. Timiryazev and the department of distant hybridization of the Main Botanical Garden. 10 varieties of domestic and foreign selection, as well as 10 breeding lines obtained with the participation of authors. The experiment and analysis of the results of the work were carried out according to the method of state variety testing of agricultural economic crops. The results of assessing the quality of grain in contrasting weather and climatic conditions are presented in2017–2018.The weather conditions in 2018 were favorable for higher quality grain in comparison since 2017 on the protein content, gluten content, gluten quality, grain vitreousness, falling number and volume of bread compared to 2017, and a decrease in yield was noted. In terms of bread yield, in general, all genotypes had higher values in 2018 compared to 2017. At the same time, there was a decrease yield reduction. In general, according to the results of the study for two years, the following genotypes of spring triticale were identified – varietyDublet and breeding lines 131/1656 and C 259 as the most high-yielding, capable of producing stable yields over 50 c/ha, with adaptability and good grain quality indicators. Varieties Lana, Sandro and breeding lines 131/7, C 259, 6-35-5 and P2-13-5-2 showed a high content of protein and gluten in comparison with the Ukro standard.A negative value of the relationship between the protein content and grain yield (r = -0.54), the content of gluten and yield (r = -0.61). Selected accessions can be used in breeding programs for yield and good grain quality.
