Stability and plasticity of spring triticale genotypes in terms of yield and grain quality

Abstract: The results of the study of twenty genotypes of spring triticale, including varieties of Russian and foreign breeding (grebeshok (standard), Lana, PamyteMerezhko, Ukro, Ulyana, KhlebodarKharkovsky, Yarilo, Dublet, Legalo, Sandro) and 10 breeding lines (131/7, 131/714, C259, C238, 6-35-5, L8665, 131/1656, P2-13-5-2, PL-13-5-13, P2-16-20), in terms of environmental stability of yield traits, grain protein content and gluten content. Varieties Grebeshok, PamyteMerezhko and line 131/714 are responsive to favorable environmental conditions for all studied traits. The remaining genotypes, according to individual indicators, belonged both to the group of plastic and to the groups of highly and / or low responsiveness. Grouping genotypes of spring triticale by classes, plastic, highly and low responsive to favorable environmental conditions, showed a negative correlation between classes on the basis of productivity and classes on the basis of protein content in grain and gluten content (r = -0.31 and r = 0.49, respectively) and at the same time a high correlation between classes in grain protein content and gluten content (r = 0.86). As a result of the study, promising genotypes were identified: in terms of productivity - Ukro, Ulyana, KhlebodarKharkovsky, Dublet, 131/1656; according to the protein content in the grain - Yarilo, Sandro, Lana, 131/7, 131/714, P2-13-5-2, P2-16-20; in terms of gluten content Yarilo, Sandro, 131/7, 131/714, C238, L8665, P2-13-5-2, P2-16-20, which statistically significantly exceed the standard - scallop variety and can be recommended for inclusion in breeding programs according to these criteria.
