The effect of different weed management schemes on growth and yield of Faba bean ( Vicia faba L.)under different water supply and phosphate fertilizer levels.

Abstract: Field experiments carried out for two successive seasons indicated that hand hoeing treatments was superior to all chimical treatments regardless to number of irrigation or rate of phosphate fertilizer . terbutryn ( 1.25 kg./fed.)and topogard (1.50 kg /feddan) gave also good results and better control of broad leaved weeds compared to pendimethalin (1.7L/feddan ) the yield of faba bean was significantly affected by the factors under investigation the highest was obtained by the hand hoeing treatment followed by terbutryn and topogard . the interaction between number of irrigation and methods of weed control was significant and indicated that increasing the time of irrigations increased the efficiently of herbicides applied . the interaction between rate of phosphate fertilizer and weed control methods was also significantly d indicated that increasing the rate of p-a significantly effect on increasing the susceptibility of weeds to herbicides and subsequently increasing the yield of faba bean ( seeds, straw and protein content).
