Effect of some weed management schemes on the yield of rape seed under different levels of nitrogen fertilization

Abstract: Field experiments were carried out , at the experimental farm of the National Research centre , shalakan , kalubia Governorate for two successive seasone to study. The effect of different weed control treatments and N – fertilizer levels on weed
Control , yield and yield components of rape seed .
The best weed control result was obtained by handhoeing treatment . pyrador
(Pyrador + eihofumesate ) at the rate of 3 kg / fed . gave the best results among the
chemical treatments used and was followed by metamitron at the rate of 2 kg / fed..
while phenmediphan at the rate of 2 1/2 L . / fed . as postemergence treatment gave
the lowest efficacy compared to the above two herbicides .
It was also noted that the efficiency of herbicides was dependent on the level of
N . Fertilizer used . thus under one given herbicide , the dry weight of weeds
decreased By increasing the rate of N level used .
All weed control treatments increased the yield of rape ( seeds , oil and straw )
Significantly compared to the unweeded control . The highest yield was obtained
By handhoeing treatment followed by oyrador and then metamitron. There was also
A significant increase in the yield by icreasing the level of N up to 60 kg /fed . for
Seeds and oil , or 90 kg / fed . for straw .
The interaction between N level and weed control treatments was significant
In both seasons up to 60 kg N /fed. In the case of seeds and oil and 90 kg N /fed . in
The case of straw .
