Broomrape control in peas (Pisum sativum L)

Abstract: In 1994/95 and 1995/96 winter seasons, two trials were conducted to control broomrape in peas. These trials were initiated in the green house at Sakha Agricultural station where the soil in naturally infested with this obligatory parasitic weed.
The effective and the applicable treatment which resulted in a good control of Orobanche and yielded a good seed yield of peas was Pursuit 10% when used at any of the rates 0.750 or I L/ha. These two rates gave 91.8 and 96 percent control of broomrape and yielded 1.040 and 0.975 t/ha peas seed yield, respectively in 1995 season. In 1996, these two rates gave 98 and 99% control of broomrape and yielded 1.313 and 1.250 t/ha of peas seed yield, respectively. From the results of the two seasons, it seems that the combination of 0.75 L/ha of pursuit 10% with 0.952 I/ha Stomp 500 improved peas seed yield although this improvement was not significant if compared with the yield resulted from the yield resulted from the use of any of the rates of Pursuit all over the two seasons
