Effect of Some Nematicides on controlling Meloidogyne incognita and determine their residues in olive fruits and soil

Abstract: Nemacur 10% granules, mocap 10% granules, furadan 10% granules, vydate 10% granules and temik 15% granules were used under field conditions in controlling Meloidogyne incognita on olive trees. The used rates of all nematicides were effective in reducing the numbers of nematodes in both soil and roots. Nemacur gave the best results in reducing nematodes in soil and number of galls, females and egg -masses. However, Furadan was the lowest one in this respect. All the tested nematicides increase the yield of olive fruits specially nemacur, vydate and temik comparing with control. After harvesting olive fruits and soil samples were collected from treated trees to determine the residues of used nematicides. Two different extraction technique and two different instruments (GLC and HPLC) were used to determine the residues of used nematicides (organophosphorous and carbamate) in olive fruits and soil. No residues of any used nematicides found in olive fruits, on the other hand some traces were found in soil samples during four months from planting and no residues detected after six months from planting.
