Assimilation of phenols by soybean bacteroids

Abstract: Bacteroids from soyabean nodules did not degrade phenolic compounds in situ but were adapted utilize catechol, salicylic, P - hydro benzoic, genistic and Protocatechuic acids after 1 h of incubation and vanillic , syringic and ferulic acids after 2 h of incubation .
