Evaluation of Oshar crude plant extract ;asa rodenticide under laboratory and field condition.

Abstract: The rodenticidal effect of Oshur crude plant extract studied under laboratory and field conditions of Sharkia orate. The laboratory results showed that in both non choice ,,free choice feeding tests, Oshar plant extracted by ethanol was ernst effective one against albino rat Rattus norvegicus followed zune and petroleum ether extract, while the water extract was iwest one. Regarding the palatability , it could be arranged rding to their acceptance in a descending order as follows: r extracted by ethanol > hexane > water > petroleum ether. On Pther hand the clinical symptoms and pathological changes of r ethanol extract were: reduce in body weigh of treated animals, y and congestion in liver, kidney and heart, noticeable darkness 'u# spleen, also, obvious congestion and bleeding was observed 4ring and - cloudy swelling occurred in intestine. Oral istration of 1/4 LD5„ of Oshar extract induced a markedly in AST (aspartate aminotransferase), ALT (alanine ransferase) enzymes level and total protein in plasma after 24 h post-treatment. Under the field conditions, ethanol Oshar gave the highest value of population reduction against the tat Rattus rattus rattus, while the water extract gave the lowest value.
