Age-specific life tables of the cotton leafworm, Apodoptera littoralis (Boisd.) treated with different bactericides

Abstract: Five bactericides of Bacillus thuringiensis Berliner, Bactospaine, Dipel, ABG. 6105, Thuricide Hp and Bactospaine / Thiodan were used, at three concentrations, against the fourth instar larvae of the cotton leafworm; Spodoptera littoralis (Bosid.) to compare the mortality factors through an age specific life tables. Analysis of these life tables was carried out using the indices of apparent mortality, real mortality, indispensable mortality and mortalitly - survival ratio. These analysis revealed that egg stage suffered the greatest mortality followed by the larvae and then the pupae. Results indicated that the listed compounds could be arranged, descendengly, according to the appearent mortality index as follows: Bactospaine/Thiodan, Bactospaine, Thuricide Hp, Dipel and ABG 6105.
