The effect of Photocolor on the biotic potential of black cutworm, Agrotis ipsilon (Hufn.) lepidoptera: Noctuidae

Abstract: Laboratory experiments were carried out to study the effect of different photocolors on the biotic potential of the black cutworm, Agrotis ipsilon (Hufn). The tested photocells were blue, red, yellow and white, which have different photo-length. Results indicated that the tested photocolors have significant effects on several aspects of the insect biology such as the mean larval duration, pupal duration, pupal mortality and both female moth's fertility and fecundity.
