Effect of some compounds [Flufenoxuron (IGR), Bioneem (botanical extract) and Nuclear polyhedrosis virus (NPV)] against the infestation rates by Helicoverpa armigera (Hubner) on

Abstract: According to the data obtained, fíeld test was conducted to study efficiency of three different compounds to evaluate their effects against Helicoverpa armigera (Hubner) infestation levels during two successive seasons of (2002 & 2003) at Ismalia Governorate, Egypt Flufenoxuron, reduced H. armigera infestation rates by 45.4% duríng the 2002 season, and by 67.6 % in the 2003 season over untreated control. Bioneem offered 40.9%, while nuclear polyhedrosis virus (NPV) resulted in 37.6% reduction over check in 2002, whereas both of them induced 45.8 and 41.2% in the 2003 season, respectively. Although no significantly effective ness was occurred at both (P = 0.05) with NPVand Bioneem treatments, Insect Growth Inhibitor (IGI) Flufenoxuron resulted in a significant reduction at the same level in H. armigera infestation compared with the check.
