Impact of Farmer Field Schools on Adoption of Integrated Pest Management Practices

Abstract: In the present work, Farmers Field Schools try to focus on basic processes through TOT training, agro-ecosystem analysis, group dynamic and season-long research studies farmers to adopt alternative crop management such as Integrated Pest Management (IPM). It has been found that when farmers have learned about basics, combined with their own experiences and needs, they make decisions that are help them to grow a healthy crop allows plants to recover better from environmental or pest injury, avoids nutrient deficiencies related with pest attack (insects and disease), and negates excessive use of toxic pesticides. They also are able to hold these systems accountable for their output and increase their benefits. And finally using a combination of botanical, biological and cultural methods and limited amounts of chemicals they are able to protect themselves from dubious sources such as harmful pesticides.
