THE EFFECTIVENESS OF SOME INSECTICIDES ON THE IMMATURE STAGES OF WHITEFLY BEMISIA TABACI AND ITS PARASITOIDS ON BEAN, PHASEOLUS VULGARIS

Abstract: Field experiments in Egypt were conducted to investigat the effectiveness of four insecticides (Dinotefuran SC 20%, Diafenthiuron SC 50%, Chlorpyriphos methyl 50% EC and Carbosulfan 25% WP) against immature stages of Bemisa tabaci on bean. The non target insecticides effect on the aphelinid parasitods Eretmocerus mundus Mercet and Encarsia lutea Masi which were common on larvae and pupae of whitefly was also investigated. The eggs population was less susceptible to insecticides treatments of the second spray comparing with the first one (59.2-91.7% and 1.4-46.1% reduction, respectively). Larval and pupal populations were significantly reduced after all treatments reached 72.8-88.3% and 73.1-87.9% reduction in 7 days after the first and second applications, respectively. Parasitism percentages were affected after insecticide treatments and reduced during the second spray more than during the first one comparing with the Untreated plots (check).
