Some physilolgical and immunoogical parameters in the female of local chicken strains
Abstract: A hundred one-day-old female chicks of each Fayouml, Golden Montazah and Matrouh female chickens' 'were used to estimate' some physiological and immunological parameters as indicator to productive performance. Body weight measured every four weeks, the blood samples were taken at 8, 12, 16 and 20 weeks of age. Primary humoral immune responses were measured at 8 and 16 weeks of age, while the secondary response measured at 12 and 20 weeks of age. Relative weight of the internal and lymphoid organs werf. measured at 8 and 20 weeks of age. .'
The chicks were reared on deep litter, under natural day light The feed and water were provided ad lib. The experiment was lasted for at 24 weeks of age. The obtained results showed that: Matrouh females had the heaviest body weight consumped more feed. Also, Matrouhstrain ha'd:the highest serum calcium, phosphorus, total protein and albumin levels; :Whilc, Fayoumi strain had the highest serum globulin as compared to' other stdiins. Golden Montazah strain had the lowest levclof'sermn 'HMG-C01 A reductase enzyme, while Matrouh strain had the higher serum cholesterol, I-IMG-CO A reductase and AlkaHne phosphatase enzymes levels. Matrouh strain had the' highest T4>hormone level,whilc Fayoumi ~'strain 'had'the highest T3 hormone level and T3!;4 ratio.
?Fayoumi strain was the highest in both primary and secondary antibody response against SRBC at, early;'and late 'age;'I.)Vith. regard to internal organs at the 8th weeks of experiment, therewereino'signifkant differences between strains liver \\right, heart weight, kidney weigh. While Matrouh strain was higher in gizzard weigh and abdominal fat. At late age (20 weeks), Matrouh strain was higher in body weight, liver, heart, abdominal fat ovary and oviduct weights.
