Ibis the new varieties of chickens (a threshold for producing commercial egg-type breed of chickens, Apri golden)

Abstract: Producing egg-type and meat-type commercial breeds of chickens, locally, has become a must. Certain attempts had been made to develops some foundation stocks to be utilized in the process of producing egg-type or meat-type commercial breeds of chickens. Performance studies for the developed foundation stocks proved that further development should be made in order to utilize the new foundation stocks for the process of producing commercial breeds of chickens. Previous foundation stocks were named as: Matrouh ( a cross between Dohhi4 and the white Leghorn), the Silver and the Golden Montazah ( across between Dokki4 and RIR), small bodied Baheij ( a cross between the Silver Montazah and Alexandria) and Mandarah (a cross between Dokki4 and Alexandria). Emphasis on egg- production will be given in the present articles, therefore, foundation stocks for meat production will be overlooked. The new foundation stocks, which were developed in El-Sabhia Poultry Research Station and were given the following names Sabahia, Ibis, Pharos and Marriott The main objectives of this work was develop Ibis a new foundation stocks , and developing eight-way crosses for improving egg production traits in local breeds of chickens. The coloration of Ibis are closely feathered lines with golden colored (Golden Ibis) or silver colored (Silver Ibis), Colombian pattern with barred hackles, wing and tails.
