Effect of supplementing multi enzymes-probiotics weaning rabbit diets up on growing rabbit performance up to maturity age

Abstract: A total number of one hundred and thirty six Hy-Plus rabbits (120 female and 16 male rabbits aged 30 days) were used in the present study to determine growing rabbit's productivity as affected by different levels of Multi enzymes-probiotics (MEPB) in diets. The 1st experiment was from weaning at 30 days to 60 days. The 2nd experiment was carried out from 60 days old up to age at first mating. All animals were divided into four comparable experimental groups. The first group was fed a commercial diet (control group), the 2nd, 3rd and 4th groups were fed the control diet supplemented with 0.1, 0.3 or 0.5% MEPB, respectively. Daily body weight gain, feed conversion ratio, final body weight, dressing percentage, carcass weight and absolute and relative internal organs weight of growing Hy-Plus rabbits were significantly (P<0.05) better, while decreased post-weaning mortality rate due to treatment with MEPB compared to control. Feeding diets contained different levels of MEPB from 60 days old up to maturity decreased age at first mating and increased significantly (P<0.05) weight at first mating. Values of each of blood pictures, total protein and its fractions, some enzymes indicated liver activity and kidney function and lipid in blood serum significantly (P<0.05) improved due to feed diets contained different levels of MEPB. Absolute and relative of gonads and pituitary gland, as well as scrotal circumference and testicular index improved (P<0.05) significantly due to treatments. It can be concluded that supplementation of MEPB to rabbit diets showed a great role in enhancing growth performance, carcass traits and decreasing mortality rate, during growing period, and enhancing each of immunity, liver and kidney functions, age and weight at first mating, weights of gonads and pituitary glands, testicular index and scrotal circumference, during pre-mature period due to multi enzymes and probiotics in MEPB. From the economic point of view 0.3% MEPB is recommended for growing and pre mature rabbits.
