Clinical studies on mastitic buffaloes naturally infected with mycoplasma bovigenitalium in Assiut governorate- Egypt.

Abstract: 996 dairy buffaloes were examined for Mycoplasma infection. The affected quarters yielded whitish odorless milk secretion with macroscoplical changes. Mycoplasma bovigenitalium could be isolated and Listeria monocytogenes. In vitro, both chloramphenicol and thiaphenicol had strong inhibitory affect on all isolated Mycoplasma strains. Therapeutic trail with thiaphenicol was carried out on three Mycoplasma mastitic buffaloes without successful response, and Mycoplasma organism was re- isolated from milk of these cases after two weks of treatment.
