Studies on repeat breader syndrome in buffaloes

Abstract: The present work was conducted on 90 samples from repeat breader of repeat breader buffaloes in Egypt for isolation and identification of bacteria.
One hundred and ten bacterial isolates were obtained. The highest percentage of isolation were staph. aureus, E. coli, St. pyogenes and Ps. Aerogeunosa respectively which prevents the implantation of fertilized ovum and hinder the process of conception and lead to repeat breading.
Sensitivity of the different isolates to antimicrobial agents was determined and gentamycin was found to be the most effective one.
