Isolation of M. arginini from granular vulvo-vaginitis of cattle and sheep

Abstract: One hundred sixty one vaginal mucous and 33 perpetual samples were obtained from cattle and sheep suffering from granular vulvovaginitis (G.V.V.) and balanoposthitis were examined for mycoplasmas.
Forty strains belonging to genus Mycoplasma were identified serologically as M. arginini from cases of GVV and balanoposthitis in sheep and cattle. The role of M. arginini in these conditions is not determined and needs further studies.
