Isolation and identification of mycoplasmas associated with diseases of sheep and goats in Egypt

Abstract: Ovine pneumonia associated with isolation of mycoplasmas were investigated. 471 samples from the respiratory tract of sheep yielded 140 mycolasma isolates.
Biochemical characterization and serological identification revealed the occurrence of M. arginini, M. mycoides subsp. mycoides, M. mycoides subsp. capri ,M. ovipneumoniae, M. conjunctivae, M. aglactiae subsp. agalactiae , A. laidlawii and group 5 (G - 145).
It appears that it is the first report of identification of M. mycoides subsp. capri from sheep.
