Occurrence of Contagious Bovine Pleuropneumonia in Saudi Arabia.

Abstract: Contagious Bovine Pleuropneumonia (CBPP) is reported for the first time in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. M. mycoides subsp. mycoides was identified form the lungs, mediastinal lymph nodes, fibrin as well as tracheal and bronchial of two buffaloes and a cow infected with the disease. The buffaloes were imported from India for slaughter purpose while the cow was from a native breed.
The danger of importation of such infectious disease, control and conclusions were discussed.
