USING DIMETHYL DIPHENYL BICARBOXYLATE (DDB) AS ANTI ERYTHROMYCIN HEPATOTOXICITY IN GOAT AND RAT

Abstract: Forty female albino rats and twenty female goats were used in the current study. Each species was divided into four equal groups. The animals of the 1st., group was served as a control, the animals of the 2nd, group of each species intramuscular injected with toxic doses of 100 and 55 mg erythromycink/kg. B.W. in rat and goat respectively. The 3rd., group was orall administered with 2 mg DDB/ kg.B.W. (for each rat and goat), and the 4th., group treated with erythromcin along with DDB (as the mentioned doses). Experimental duration continued for 14 and 3 days in rats and goat respectively. Histochemical, Clinical Biochemical, Haemotological and Histophatological studies were carried out. Reslts indicated the DDB treatment along with erythromycin reduced NADH- Diaphorase and ALT enzme activites, total Bilirubin concentration and revealed few degenerative changes of hepatocytes and promoting increase in the body weight. In contrast, the reverse above effects with erythromycin when treated alone, was induced the hepatotoxicty. Based on our study DDB may used as hepatoprotection against erythromycin hepatotoxicity and as a growth promoter.
