Hypophosphatemic haemoglobinurea and gastrointestinal nematode correlation in buffaloes and approch to treatmen

Abstract: Abstract Haemoglobinuria was investigated in lactating buffaloes suffering from hypophosphataemia alone and hypophosphataemia associated with gastrointestinal nematodes . The correlation between hypophosphataemia and gastrointestinal nematodes was studied through (35) female lactating buffaloes ( 7 - 9 years old ) and 2 –4 month after parturition .Blood and serum samples were obtained for estimation of R.B.C,W.B.Cs, differential leucocytic count , PCV, Hb , protein , albumin and globulin in addition to glucose , calcium , magnesium and phosphorus concenterations . Faecal samples were obtained for diagnosis of gastrointestinal nematodes . Clinical symptoms were recorded for all groups . Laboratory measures showed significant decrease in R.B.Cs., Hb., PCV, calcium . and phosphorus and significant increase in W.B.Cs and total protein. Clinical symptoms in cases of hypophosphataemia and nematodic hypophosphataemic animals showed 37.1c0 rectal temp. , 88 per minute heart rate and 42 per minute respiratory rate . these animals characterized by dullness , emaciation , bloody urine , off food , ruminal motility was 2 per minute and pale mucus membrane.
Treatment to all groups by sodium dibasic phosphate to hypophosphataemic animals and by sodium dibasic phosphate and antinematodal drug {tetramisol hydrochloride ( Citarin Bayer )} to those suffer from hypophosphataemia associated with gastrointestinal nematodes showed good results
