Analytical study of agricultural investment in Egypt

The Egyptian agricultural sector is of great importance among other economic sectors. It reliably achieve the bulk of the economic and social development plans and that on the side of the investment. Investment is one of the most important means of economic development in general and agricultural in particular, where the average total investment to the agricultural sector is valued at about 1694.6 million dollars during the period (2000-2013) by 5.8% of average total national investments, which is estimated of 29243.14 million dollars during the same period.
The problem of the study in the presence of a range of key parameters that control the agricultural investments; including: political, economic, social, legislative and other; where it is still the size of these specific investments in general.
The study aims to identify the most important of these parameters in addition to the knowledge of investment efficiency standards through economic efficiency.
The results of the study were as follows: -
The study of the evolution national and agricultural investments, which increase during the study period (2000- 2013) at about 2569.5, 70.5 million $ per year respectively for each of them by an estimated 89.9%, 4.1% for each respectively.
The most influential factors on agricultural investment in Egypt through multiple regression equation are: the total of Manpower, the agricultural labor force, the number of the rural population in particular, and the total number of the population in general, as well as the agricultural GDP and average per capita, Gross domestic product (GDP) and per capita share of it, and all of the cultivated space and the average per capita, in addition to all of the area of sustainable and arable land, the exchange rate of the dollar pound, the population growth rate, total revenues and government expenditures and the surplus or deficit in the general budget.
