An Economic Study for Egyptian Agricultural Exports under The World Economic Changes

Egyptian agricultural exports are considered as one of the major providers of foreign currency required for funding socio-economic development programs .
Major objectives of this study are figuring out the major exports , analysis of progress deterioration and shedding some light on the new agreement of Egyptian European Partnership .
Moreover , the study focuses on the competitiveness situation of the agricultural exports in the European market .
The total value of agricultural exports of cotton , rice , onion, potatoes and orange , constitute about 52.7 % during ( 1989 – 1994 ) and about 69.6 % during ( 1995 - 2000 ) .
The study indicated that the EEC is the major importer of Egyptian and Potatoes and the Gulf Cooperation Council is the major importer of onion . Egypt’s agricultural exports to Arabian Magarey Association COMESA , NAFTA and ASEAN were insignificant.
The study reached to package of recommendations .Adoption of export- oriented production policy and rationalization of local consumption major cash crops ,
Injection of more diversification into farm exports to maximize the acquired foreign currencies , Re- distribution of exports according to market efficiency criteria , put more emphasis on export price with the purpose of enhancing Egypt’s competitiveness situation and Give much support to promotion programs and campaigns .
