The Current Status of Production Capacity of Animal Feed in Egypt

The research aims to study the current status of the production capacity of animal feed in Egypt, which includes both green fodder and dry feed.
The results showed that the supply response model for alfalfa by using absolute value there are some factors affecting on the cultivated area during the research period, Represented in farm price, the net yield of the wheat feddan in the previous year, the production costs per acre of the alfalfa and the return of cotton and alfalfa in the previous year Which agreed with the economic logic.
It was found that there was a relationship between the cultivated area of the alfalfa, which is statistically uncertain at a probability level of 0.05, while the relation between the farm price of the wheat crop and the farm price of the alfalfa crop was significant at Statistical Probability Level of 0.05, The ratio between the net return of cotton feddan to the net yield of feddan alfalfa is a statistically significant and there is inverse relationship between them at a probability level of 0.05 and that 89.6% of the changes in cultivated area of alfalfa in the current year due to changes in the explanatory factors shown in the equation.
Also, the results showed that the model was agreed with economic logic by using relative price, where the factors that affecting on the planted area of the alfalfa, presented in the cultivated area of alfalfa in the previous year, the ratio between the farm price of wheat and the cultivated price of alfalfa on the previous year and the ratio of net yield feddan of wheat and the net yield of Alfalfa in the previous year during the period (2000-2016).
