An Economic Study Of Effect Of the Fragmentation Of Agricultural Land On The Productivity And Yield Of The Maize Crop In Gharbia

Abstract: summary
This Research deals with the effect of the fragmentation of agricultural land on the productivity and yield of the maize crop in Gharbia Governorate. A sample of 110 farmers was selected, divided into three categories. The first group includes the owners of less than 50 acres of agricultural land, Of the area of acres of acres less than two acres and 40 farmers, and the third category of possession of the owners of agricultural holdings, which have an area of about two acres and more of the number of 20 farmers, the study was aimed at evaluating those categories of possession to find out the best and achieve the most Z rates of productivity and economic efficiency, where it was found from the study of production costs that the average production costs Alfdanah total of about 6789.1, 5554,480,8803 pounds for the first category, second and third respectively, and the production costs of the Ardab are about 350, 270.9 and 217.4 pounds for the first, second and third holding category respectively, There were significant differences between the three possessor categories at a significant level of 0.01. In the study of the economic efficiency indicators for the production of the maize crop, a triangular hybrid 321, it was shown that the total feddan yield reached 9267, 9625, 11114.7 pounds for the first, second and third categories Respectively. It is also clear that both the net yield, the total return / total costs, the profit margin of the investor, the economic efficiency rate, and the profit margin of the product increases as we move from a category of possessivity to a higher storage category. The three dominant categories in each of the economic indicators mentioned above are due to the principle of capacity savings, where costs are lower and yield increases as we move from the lower to the larger category.
The maize production (triple hybrid 321) Three, where the results of the Yas these functions significantly at .01 based on the value of F, and for the production function for the first category, it has been shown that the most productive elements of impact on production is the amount of animal work, the amount of seed in kg and the amount of nitrogen fertilizer unit. The value of production flexibility varied. The total production elasticity of this model was about 1,116, which means that maize production in the first category is subject to increasing capacity relationships. By increasing the combined production elements by 10%, the quantity of production increases by 11.16% Second, the most productive elements affecting the yield of maize maize were the amount of human labor, the number of irrigation hours and the value of pesticides in pounds. The total production elasticity of the second category function model is about 0.8. This means that maize production in the second category is subject to decreasing capacity relationships.
By increasing the combined production elements by 10%, the quantity of production increases by 8%. Finally, the most productive factors affecting the production in the third category are the quantity of seeds in the gram variety, the value of the chemical pesticides in pounds. The elasticity of the total production of the category 3 function model was about 0.945, which means that the maize production of this category is subject to decreasing capacity relations, Where by increasing the production elements by the combined function by 10%, the quantity of production increased by 9.45%.
We found that there are many of these problems and obstacles. The problem of high prices of chemical fertilizers came in first place with 95.45% of the total number of these fertilizers. The problem of the increase in the prices of new varieties of seeds and their unavailability in agriculture was 88.18% in third place, and then came the problem of height The problem of low productivity of water, the shortage of irrigation water, the erosion of covered agricultural banks, the increase in the incidence of fungal diseases and agricultural pests, and finally the problem of fragmentation and dispersal of agricultural holdings came in the fifth, sixth, seventh place , Eighth and Ninth, 83.64%, 79.1%, 76.36%, 73.64% and 70.91%, respectively.
