Main Place Climate Change Information Center & Renewable Energy & Expert Systems
Dates Starting Date: 12/1996      Ending Date: 11/1997
Objectives The goal of this project is to develop a tool to advice farmers on a course of action to be taken when a sudden onset of an adverse weather condition, takes place.
- surprise changes in temperature and how best to address them
2 - surprise changes in humidity levels and how best to address them
3 - expect rain and show tips to cope with the damage that arise
4 - expected wind and make tips to face
Achievements An expert system was developed with the ability to provide advice when unfavorable weather conditions such as low temperature, frost, high temperature, hail, storms, wind, and others take place. Given a prevailing weather condition, the expert system predicts the effect of this condition on a specific crop such as grapes, peaches, tomatoes, potatoes, beans, and others. In addition, the system also suggests what the grower can do in order to minimize the damage.
was developed systems to the vagaries of weather expert system such as providing advice to farmers to the vagaries of weather through a network of FAO
