Farmers attitudes towards agricultural extension centers in Kafr El-Sheikh governorate
Abstract: The Agricultural extension centers aim at developing the rural society economically, socially and culturally. Goal attainments of these centers depending on the farmers Participation in the activities of the centers and the attitude of those farmers towards these extension centers.
The main objective of this research is to recognize the nature of farmers attitude towards the agricultural extension centers in Kafr El - Sheikh governorate, during three months from June to August 2004, data were collected from 200 interviewees from 4 villages where the agricultural extension centers were established.
The Statistical methods for analysis of data included frequency tables, percentages, x2 coefficient contingency, coefficient of simple pearson correlation, coefficient of regression .
The Specific objectives of this research were to: - Recognize farmers attitude towards the following items dealing with the agricultural extension centers which includes: Buildings, address, duties, workers, educational Possibilities and the educational activities. Identifying relationship between the general farmers attitude towards the agricultural extension centers and some personal, social, economical, psychological and communicational characteristics: age, marital status, occupation, family size, family type, educational level, educational level of the family individuals, membership of rural organizations, Sources of Agricultural information, Number of Agricultural information Sources ,and exposure to mass media.
