Evaluation of Hematol machine in rice straw chopping

Abstract: Clearly human depends on the environment in his daily needs to improve his life. But, there are many environmental problems faced the societies such as agricultural residues removement.
In Egypt, rice is one of the most important cereal crops which has a great effect on human alimentation. Therefore, rice production occupies a key position in the overall economy of Egypt. (Radwan, 1994). And due to Egyptian light spot to minimize and reuse of agricultural residues, the manufacturers of agriculture machines start to produce some new types of chopper to chopped the agricultural residues. So, the aim of this study was to evaluate Hematol chopper in rice straw chopping and compare it with the Balady thresher.
The following results were obtained:
1- Hematol chopper: The productivity between 200 to 430kg/h, from 10 to 20cm straw length, 29.35 MJ/ton machine energy requirement, and the cost of chopping one ton of rice straw was 32.5 L.E.
2- Balady thresher: The productivity between 530 to 825kg/h, from 2.5 to 10cm straw length, 18.9 MJ/ton machine energy requirement, and the cost of chopping one ton of rice straw was 18.2 L.E.
From obtained data can be cocluded that, the importance of redesign the old types machines and reuse it instead of use the imported new design machines which need to spend more time in developing, training and trading policy, in additional of more mony cost.
