Amelioration of heat stress on rabbits.

Abstract: This study aimed to improve the reproductive performance by determined the physiological and biological reactions of doe rabbits under hot environmental conditions (summer season) by added highly concentrated nutritional supplement and using different housing models differed only in the roof. The rabbits were equally and randomly divided into three groups each (12 does + 3 bucks) for three housing models. Each groups were divided into 2 subgroups, first is control and second is treatment with 0.5ml/L/day Synertox compound. Results showed that double iron sheets roof accommodate and ideal house for raising rabbits than the other two indoors models. Does in the 2nd model had lower rectal, skin and hair temperature and respiration rate than that in the 1st and 3rd model. Concerning to treatment with Synertox, the corresponding values recorded the lowest values compared to control. The values of Ht, Hb, RBCs, WBCs, TP, Alb, Glob, GOT, GPT, T4 and T3 concentration were significantly higher in does kept in the 2nd model than that kept in the 3rd and 1st model. Treatment with Synertox caused improved in these values under any houses. Litter size, litter weight and milk yield (g.) at birth, 2nd, 3rd and at weaning were significantly lower for does in the 3rd and 2nd model. Treatment with Synertox caused improved in these values under any houses.
