Lint Reactivity of some Egyptian cotton varieties after treatment in alkaline and acid swelling agents

Abstract: The reactivity of fibers of five Egyptian cotton varieties ; namely, Giza 45, 87, 80, 89 and Giza 86 was measured before and after treatment with three swelling agents i.e. NaOH (1, 5 and 10 N) for 30 minutes, H2SO4 (10% and 25%) for 15 seconds.
