Histopathological examination and immunohistochemical technique for detection of Mycoplasma bovis in formalin fixed paraffin embedded calf lumg tissues using monoclonal antibodies .

Abstract: Three hunderd and three samples of penumonci lung were obtained from slaughtered animals ( El-bassatin abattoir, cairo Governorate ) during the period from December 1998 to february 2000 These samples were subjected o the bacteriological , histopathological and immuno- histochemical examination the latter was carried out with the use of monoclonal antibodies raised against Mycoplasma bovis and an avidin - biotin peroxdase complex (ABC) system Mycoplasma bovis was isolated from 60 cases pulmonary lesions were characterized by severe chronicx suppurative bronchopneumonia with absessation Mycoplasma bovis antigen was mainly detected at the periphery of the areas of coagulative necrosis with tissue debris in close association with infilterating macrophages and neutrophils within inflammatory cells in air - way lien and in alveolar epithelium .
