Economic Study For Egyption To The Most Important Egyption Citrus Varieties
The Egyptian exports in general and exports of citrus fruits in particular are facing many of the challenges due to the deterioration of the quantity and value of those exports in recent years, and fluctuations between the increase and decrease .
The research problem consisted in this apparent volatility in Egyptian exports of citrus fruits, especially oranges, tangerines and lemons and this is why we have targeted research to identify the potential production and export of such items during the period (1999 -2011). Also the research aimed to study some indicators of export performance of these varieties, to identify the competitiveness of Egyptian price, and identify the most important importing countries to those varieties of Egyptian citrus. This is through the study of external demand by the most important international markets in order to expand and increase exports of these items.
The statistical analysis descriptive and quantitative like style simple regression and multi-phased, as well as some statistical indicators such as percentages and averages, estimate elasticity of both Egyptian price of the export for each crop of research topic, and GDP of importing countries are used to achieve the aim of this work.
The reached results indicate that all varieties of citrus have taken a general trend growing both in size, productivity and production despite the volatility during the search period. This trend is confirming statistically significantly at known levels of moral. The results indicated that all of the quantity exported and the average export price for each class of varieties of citrus fruits have taken a general growing trend and stressing statistically significance at well-known levels of moral. For the functions of the total demand for Egyptian exports of those varieties of citrus were consistent with the economic logic for each of the tangerine and lemon, but they did not agree with the economic logic of orange. The results relate the most important factors affecting the Egyptian exports compared with major importing countries to the price of states competing with Egypt in the export of any class of varieties of citrus fruits under study, in addition to the GDP of the importing country and its population. From the results, it turns out that Egypt has a comparative advantage and competitive advantage in the export of each of orange and lemon as a result of the problems and obstacles facing Egyptian citrus exports.
