Gastroenteritis in dogs Bacteriological and pathological studies

Abstract: out of 50 diarrhoeic rectal swabs of dogs and 120 samples of infected organs of 20 dead ones with a history of diarrgoea were subjected to bacteriological and pathological stubies Results of bacteriological examination of rectal swabs revealed isolation of :Ecoli , proteus mirabils Streptococcus species , Cperfringens types A, D,C, difficile , c. bifermentans and peptostreptococcus anaeropious in an incidence of (58 , 26, 10, 50 , 20 , 24, 2, and 2%) respectively Microoganisms recovered from infected organs varied according to the organ examined and included ; Staphylococci , streptococci , E, coli , Proteus mirabilis, C. perfringens types A,B and C bifermentans the histopathological studies were done one the organs of 20 dead cases from which C . perfringens , Staphylococcus , Streptococcus and E. coli were isolated the histopathological findings of infected organs were studied and discussed .
