El-Sirw Agricultural Research Station (EARS)is Located in North East of the Nile Delta. Dumitta Governorate (32 latitude N;zero altitude).It was established in 1962 as a lab of water requirement department and became an independent research station in 1974. It has a farm about 200feddans which was a part of the farm of El-Serw Agricultural Taftish. The land of the whole area was cut out of El-Manzala lake in 1940s. The farm is characterized whith a heavy clay and salty affected soil. The source of the irrigated water is the Nile fresh water through El-Shocacanal plus the agricultural drained water from both El-Serw and El-Harana drained canals.
