The station performs a part of the plan of the production research institute in co-oparation with its various research departments and performs the studies and researches needed to increase the productive eficiency of breeding flocks for the following:-
1- Maintaining the original local breeds adapted to the environmental conditions in the region and that can be distributed to breeders after performing the genetic improvement for it.
2- production hybridss of local dreeds with foreign breeds to get the (hybrid vigor)high- production hybrid and acclimatized with the surrounding environmental conditions.
3- presence of specialized research stuffs in the fields of animal production as advisers to the breeders and surrounding farms in the areas of nutrition, management, diseases and milk processing.
