Some studies on sarcocystis species in cattle

Abstract: the present investigation was carried out for studing Sarcocystis sp. in cattle at Dakahlia province. A survey conducted from june 2005 till May 2006 , 446 out of 600 ( 74.33% ) muscular tissues were collected from slaughtered cattle at Dakahlia abattoir containing numerous white spindle -shaped bodies .the esophageal muscles were more infected than the other muscles .the infection was high in summer followed by autumn to be 93.33% and 92% followed by spring ( 80% ) and the winter ( 32% ) .it was found that the old cattle were more susceptible the to infection than younger ones
