Weed Research central laboratory
The laboratory was founded in 2002, it includes a group of elite scientists, 32 researchers, 2 assistant researchers, 8 specialists and technicians.
The laboratory is divided into the following Departments:
1-Weed control in field crops.
2-Weed control in horticulture crops and roadside.
3-Weed survey, ecology and physiology.
Also divided into 10 regional laboratories on agriculture research stations.
The most objectives are:
1- Conducting research, extension and training of concerned integrated weed management in various field, horticulture and vegetables crops.
2- Conducting protocols of herbicide evaluation in field, horticulture and vegetable crops.
3- Mapping weeds in different crop fields for controlling it.
4- Study weed seed bank dynamics in soils.
5- Estimation yield losses in various crops.
6- Minimizing parasitic weeds (Orobanche and Cuscuta) problems in host plants of various crops.
